Pro Evolution Soccer 6 Review
Home » Pro Evolution Soccer 6 Review
Pro Evolution Soccer 6 is possibly the best football game ever to grace this planet. Born on the SNES [Super Nintendo Entertainment System] as International Superstar Soccer [IIS], the Pro Evolution Soccer series came into its own after its debut as IIS: Pro Evolution on the Playstation.
Since its early days PES6 has been steadily growing in popularity and is currently on its 6th incarnation. PES6, incidentally, is the first generation of the game to be launched on a next generation console, the Xbox 360. Whilst many players argue the 360 version doesn't live up to its PS2 counterpart it is a fantastic game nonetheless.
Featuring the best graphics ever seen in a Pro Evolution game PES6 on the Xbox 360 is the first of its kind. Unfortunately Konami, who develop the Pro Evolution Soccer series omitted a a number of sought after features in its next gen version. Noteably the ability to customise players and save replays, something many fans are angry about.
Some fans were so angry at the apparent lack of features in Pro Evo 6 that online petitions were started with many thousands of fans signing up in an attempt to make Konami release a patch to include the features. To this point no such patch has been released however numerous "fixes" have been released in an attempt to fix the online sections of the game.
The Pro Evolution Soccer series' main competitor is EA Games FIFA series. The FIFA games generally tend to feature a more arcade style of play but have licenced all teams and squads in the game which many fans wish PES had. PES actually featured fake names and squad lists.
