Who are we?
Back of the Net (BOTN) is a free internet based Pro Evolution Soccer league, and a lot more besides. We pride ourselves on being a strong community where members can play and compete on PES5 and a whole bunch of other Xbox titles.
What PES competitions do you offer?
Our competitions are many and varied. We have European Leagues, International Leagues, Galactico Leagues and the Ultimate Career League as well as league cups, world cups and weekly minicups. We also run tournaments for other games such as scrabble, Fight Night, Saints Row, Halo, Top Spin and Table Tennis
Cool, so how would I get into a league?
Easy. Introduce yourself on the
forums and the
shoutbox, get yourself known and most importantly get playing ranks ups. You must have at least 10 ranks ups played before you can be entered into a league.
What is a Rank Up?
A rank up is ANY GAME between two members of the site that is not already a part of a league or a tournament, unless you agree otherwise before playing the game. There is nothing to play for per se other than Kudos, but all site rules still apply. All games are recorded and added to your profile so it is just as important to send these
results in.
Kudos? You lost me?
Kudos is one of the systems we use to rank our members. You start with 500 kudos and every game you play will have kudos on the line. The kudos are awarded using the (???) system and as a default, if you play someone with the same rating as you, you will get 10 Kudos, someone higher will give you 11+ kudos and if you lose to someone lower than you you lose more Kudos. Get it? Got it? Good?
OK, so Im playing games, what else does the site offer me?
A ton of stuff. We have the shoutbox which provides real time communication with other site members, forums on every subject under the sun, if you get into the right leagues there is a bookies, lottery, auction facility and arcade as well as a ton of other cool stuff. We also track every game played and every goal scored to give you the total PES experience.
Now that I am in a league, how do I arrange games?
Through the
forums. It is very important you use the forums for all fixture arranging. You can also chase people up on the
shoutbox and through
PMs or MSN but all this should be documented on the forums.
What if an opponent doesn’t show?
You have an absolute minimum of 4-5 days to get games played. If an opponent doesn’t show or has gone on holiday, your fixture may be pooled, your league admin will use the forum to see who has made the most effort to get the fixture played and will pool games accordingly.
When I play I seem to get lag, What can I do to improve my connection?
PES5 sees one half played on each opponent’s server. In order to improve your connection you should disconnect from all internet sites, turn off your computer if necessary, log out of MSN and any downloading programmes and ensure noone else is on your connection. The settings you choose for the game can also play a role in lag and you should have smaller stadiums, fine weather conditions and preferably night time settings.
Who do I see if I have a problem?
Admins are assigned to each league and competition and they will make themselves known to you. All admins have moderation rights in the forums to make sure everything in there is appropriate and are responsible for ensuring the leagues are up to date and running smoothly. Any problems
PM the relevant admin with details and they will be more than happy to help.
