Season 2 is almost at an end and what a season its been!
Season 3 is shaping up to be the biggest and the best that we have seen so far.
Season 3 will see BoTn introduce a new League setup. It has been called The Galacticos league you may have guessed from the title that its a league of a high standard of teams.
We wanted to deliver something new to back of the net and what better way to do it than to go back to our origianl setup but with a twist. The Galatico League will be a flexible league in that you will be able to turn up to any match and choose any Club team you want!
If you feel that you are not achieving you full potential with a team you have the option to try with another one.
The Euro league setup will still be in place and the structure of that league will remain the same however with the euro rewards system gone we have decided to seed teams for the euro leagues by site rank. The lowest ranked player in a division will get the first pick of the Club teams for that division then the next ranked player and so on and so forth..
Fixtures for the leagues will be released every 4 days as before.
Season 3 will see us introduce the League cups for each League.
If you choose to play in two Leagues please please make sure that you are able to play 4 games every 4 days!!!!!!
The Signups for both leagues will close on the 25/03/06 then teams and divisions will be seeded and Season 3 will kick off on the 29/03/06

MINICUP REPORT 12TH MARCH
An all Italian Minicup with the teams decided as Juventus vs Ac Milan, we also again welcomed new BoTn Minicup players in JIMMEYWELSH4 and NAWETINJALLOH. How would they do?
One major absence was the previous Minicup holder, LUKE3300. Obviously a busy man, he didn't get to site in time for signup so for the first time ever, LUKE is not involved. With a couple of others also missing out, as of next week the signup will be open until 9pm and therefore allowing up to 32 members to take part!
1st Round:
Out of the 8 first round games, 4 of them turn out to be close 1-0 wins. The likes of NEIL363, KITANO UK, CAPTAINCOD1 and the newcomer JIMMYWELSH4 all see off their opponents by this scoreline to book their places in the next round.
The other 4 matches see BARNDAN record the biggest victory, 4-0 over minicup veteran JOKER0074. Both EREC SHAUN 360 and A HERO EMERGES score 3 goals to see of their respective opponents THUGGIE BEAR and NAWETINJALLOH, with HERO finding it incredibly easy against the newcomer who didnt even have a shot on goal. Maybe next time NAWETINJALLOH!?!
2nd Round:
We see BARNDAN and A HERO EMERGES battle it out for a semi final place. Both had an easy route to this round but which could make it to the Semis? With BARNDAN getting a penalty to go one up and then also hitting the bar, it's not looking good for A HERO EMERGES, But it would take some effort to knock HERO out at this early stage, and so it proved. 89th min, a BARNDAN corner, HERO clears and counterattacks to score the equaliser. Game on!! We go into extra time and with HERO running full of confidence he gets a early goal and hangs on to knockout BARNDAN.
The other match in the bottom half of the draw sees CAPTAINCOD1 and JIMMYWELSH4 battle it out with 'THE COD' winning 3-2 and going on to meet HERO in the Semi's.
We also have NEIL363 trying to stop EREC SHAUN 360 from scoring 3 goals in another match, NEIL fails and SHAUN sails on into the Semi final!
The only other game is a scouse vs manc battle. Can KITANO UK overcome MANC 4 LIFE to book his first ever Semi Final spot? The Answer? NO! Another close game but MANC 4 LIFE eventually wins 2-1.
Semi Final:
4 players. 2 matches. Who will make it through to the final!? The favorite? A HERO EMERGES with MANC 4 LIFE right behind him!
EREC SHAUN 360 up against MANC 4 LIFE. Although MANC is the second favorite to win the cup, he's another one who cannot stop the EREC SHAUN charge and we again see SHAUN score 3 goals to book his place.
Thats one outsider through, can COD make it two? Or will HERO be too much for another opponent?
AN early COD own goal settles HEROS Semi final nerves. No comeback for CAPTAINCOD1 and HERO eventually seals the game with a cracking Kaka volley, to win the game 2-0.
Final:
So again we have A HERO EMERGES, this time up against EREC SHAUN 360. And again I'll leave the final to the words of our FOUR TIME MINICUP CHAMPION - A HERO EMERGES.

2nd half was i was all over again shooting but nothing, so we said wow go 2 pens both accepted it but right at the end of et c seedorf came throughwith a pearler of a shot, outside the boxcurler last gasp effort hit the corner of the post/crossbar bounced on the lineand just hit the back of teh side net wow wat a goal, and that game me the 4th,
was unlucky cos shaun was all over me 1st half but if u dont score u cant win,
just 2 say WE WON IT 4XS, WE WON IT 4XS, IN ISTANBAL, WE WON IT 4XS, the liverpool fans will understand'

BACK OF THE NET!!
I am proud to announce that today saw us breaking into unknown terroritory. Today was the first day that we officially broke into the top 100,000 sites on the internet
We were ranked at around 80 thousand. While this may not seem a lot 3 months ago we were 2 million odd. And that is over the ENTIRE internet, every single site.
Im glad you can all be a part of it!

MINICUP REPORT 5TH MARCH 2024
MINICUP 5th MARCH 2024: Time: 20:30 hours.
The theme was set for Spurs vs Blackburn, two pretty even teams both with a fairly quick accurate attack and both sides with a darn good keeper. With this in mind, there were either going to be loads of goals, or no goals!!!
1st Round:
A good turnout of 15 members signing up and therefore only one person would get a bye into the next round, the lucky sod was EREC SHAUN 360. TOMSKI was very unhappy about this, a bye would have been his only way of getting into the 2nd round!!
Instead TOMSKI is drawn against LUKE3300, not a chance of Tom getting through that one you would have thought? Well you thought right, even though he hit the bar in the last min, Luke is again to much for 'The Boss' and sails through to the second round leaving TOMSKI to lick his wounds and think about trying again next week.
We again welcome a couple of newcomers to the Minicup for the first time, H3AVY and SMIVADEE. However both are drawn against veteran minicup players and both JOKER0074 and CRAZY GOONER have too much experience and dont let either newcomer through to the next round.
There are also a couple of very close games, CS STEVE beating CAPTAINCOD1 1-0 (finally playing after having 'connection' problems), MANC 4 LIFE beating NEIL363 2-1 on pens, even after missing his first 3 penalties!! And PROROBBO beating BISCUITS007 4-2 on pens.
However the player of the 1st round must be A HERO EMERGES. Up against ALEXWILLIAMS15, HERO goes 1-0 down but comes storming back to beat ALEX 5-1 with the help of cracking goals by Keane and Defoe. Alex is well beaten and cant take anymore and withdraws his men from the field before the final whistle is even blown, shame on you!!
Quarter Finals:
8 men left, only 4 can go through.
A HERO EMERGES is full of confidence and sees of CRAZY GOONER 1-0 to book his place in the Semi, while CS STEVE and PROROBBO square up for the chance to meet HERO. PROROBBO beating STEVE comfortably 4-2 to seal his Semi final spot.
The top half of the draw sees MANC 4 LIFE vs JOKER0074 and after a close fought game JOKER just squeezes through 2-1.
We now get a first glimpse of EREC SHAUN 360, his opponent the MINICUP mad, LUKE3300. Another easy game for LUKE who is 'ace with Blackburn' and eases through to the Semi final place 3-0 with EREC SHAUN 360 completely outplayed. Therefore that is the only glimpse we see of SHAUN, maybe more next time?
Semi Finals:
The bottom half of the draw saw A HERO EMERGES going for another Minicup final up against PROROBBO, on a roll after scoring 4 goals in each round so far. Not much to say other than PROROBBO turns out to be the dark horse of the tournament and leaves HERO trailing to seal a first ever final spot.
The top half sees LUKE going 1-0 down to JOKER0074 before coming back to score a last minute winner. LUKE3300 will obviously have to play better in the final if he wants to win his first Minicup!!
Final:
So we have it, LUKE3300 (in his 4th Minicup final, still looking for a win) vs PROROBBO (the minicup dark horse!). Will ROB be able to stop LUKE3300 from fulfilling his lifelong dream? Or will he blow LUKE away like all previous opponents.
Again, I'll leave it to our NEW MINICUP CHAMPION LUKE3300 (yes thats right HES BLOODY WON!!), to sum up the final.
'After 3 defeats before, I took a rather more cautious approach to this one, but none the less, found myself 1-0 inside 2 mins. I thought to myself," is this too early to score". i pressed for a 2nd but couldnt get it, he was blocking everything. at the other end i was defending properly, and stopped him scoring, which in fairness, he did have a nice attacking game going on. anyway into the 2nd half and i cant find a second goal, i decide im not gonna get 1, and instead of going all out for the 2nd, learn from past mistakes, and defend properly, not concede a goal and learn how to win 1-0 ffs! and thats wot i did. i had a throw dont his end in stoppage time thinkin ive won it, but he didnt thhink so, he had other ideas, and soooo nearly equalised, my keeper at full stretch to deny him after a low shot from a flowing attacking move, the ball didnt cross for a corner, i booted long, and there it was THE FINAL WHISTLE, i had done it , i had won a mini cup at long last!'
SO congrats go out to LUKE3300 for his first ever minicup final victory, bad luck to PROROBBO but I feel his overall Minicup performance shows that there is now another serious contender for the trophy. Maybe next time ROB!!?

Please feel free to go and place your votes now in the minicup forum to decide next weeks theme, just make sure you all pick a team that LUKE doesnt like!! Cant have him winning two on the trot can we?

BoTn World Cup 2
 Ok guys and dolls The signup for the World Cup is now open. It's an open to all tournament however before you sign you must be aware that,
The teams will be seeded Randomly so you could end up with Brazil or Iran.
The World Cup will be set fixtures released every 4 days from the start date.
There will be 8 groups of 4 players the top 2 players will go through to the second round.
The winner will get a World Cup[ trophy added to there Trophy cabinet.
You must be able to paticipate if you signup if you sign up and do not play you will recieve a warning and your inactivity wil be noted in your notes.

MINICUP REPORT 26th FEB
The place: BoTN. The date: Sunday 26 Feb 2024. The time: 20:30hrs. The reason: Another superb Minicup!!
So the theme was decided and the Geordies took on the Toffees. One quick and powerful attack against one rock solid defence. Which would be the winning formula??
1st Round:
The draw is made and we see a couple of new faces in the 1st round. We would also see one of those new faces definately through to the next round as SMOKEY657 and CAPTAINCOD1 drew each other.
Luckily for 'The Cod' he has the power of Shearer and the pace of Owen, with both those players scoring first half goals to see of SMOKEY 2-1.
The 1st round also sees the return of NEIL363 to face 'The Boss', TOMSKI. A dodgy penalty for Neil sees him fight his way past the new-found form of EL1's whipping boy to take his place in the 2nd round of the Minicup for the first time ever!
Other notable results in the first round see last weeks Semi-Finalist, BISCUITS007, beaten by ALEXWILLIAMS15 and A HERO EMERGES just scrapping by against JOKER0074, in a game that both players admitted should have gone to the JOKER! Obviously the new name for Joker didnt see him have any new luck!
Two other games were very close both going into Extra time but BOB88 finally sees of THUGGIE BEAR and LUKE3300 knocks BARNDAN out with the latter moaning that he 'hates Everton'.
2nd Round:
With both MANC 4 LIFE and JONBOYO receiving byes into the second round they meet for a place in the Semis. JONBOYO has the better game seeing of previous Minicup champ MANC 4 LIFE, and progressing to the semis.
We also have ALEXWILLIAMS15 and 'THE COD' battling it out for the other bottom half semi final but even with COD on a roll from his first tournament win he cannot get past the stubborn defence of ALEX and goes down 2-0.
The top half of the draw sees the two who always seem to draw each other, A HERO EMERGES and LUKE3300 going head-to-head again. It was always going to take something special to seperate these two, so Luke just had to show who was boss. A freekick on the halfway line should be no real trouble. It becomes trouble however when the defending keeper has a slight lapse in concentration, skill and anything else that helps him stand up. Running out to meet the freekick he inexplicably allows it to sail over his head and into the back of the net giving Luke a 2-0 lead. Although Hero rallies his troops to get it back to 2-1 he doesnt have enough time for anymore and Luke is through to the Semis.
The other 2nd round game has NEIL363 (in his first ever 2nd round match) up against BOB88. 5-1 to Bob is the score. End of story, enough said!!
Semi-Final:
Woooaahh, what a draw for the Semi Finals. For JONBOYO and ALEXWILLIAMS15 this must be the biggest game they have played on BoTn, but unfortunately for them the other Semi is a real grudge match. Not much to say, but JONBOYO scraps through as Newcastle to book his place in his first Final.
The second Semi sees the return of the BOB88 and LUKE3300 meeting, like I say, a real grudge match if there ever was one. Bob eventually goes on to win 3-0 but the real talking point is how his first goal came about. Ferguson on the floor injured, Bob plays on and scores. Luke is not happy about this act of non-sportsmanship and cant regain his composure. He eventually loses 3-0, with Shearer tackling Martyn in goal for the 3rd. The question is: Should Bob have kicked the ball out to allow the injured man to receive treatment, or is it just sourgrapes from Luke?? VOTE IN THE FORUM NOW!!!
Final:
After the controversy of the Semis we see BOB88 meet JONBOYO. Bob having last won a Minicup over a month ago and going for his second victory up against the relative new-comer in JONBOYO (although he's getting on a bit now!!).
JONBOYO obviously delighted that the other semi was as much a mental battle as it was physical for Bob, and therefore sensing his first ever trophy.
As is always the case now, I pass you over to the words of our NEW MINICUP CHAMPION, JONBOYO.
'After scraping through to the final after winning the semis with Newcastle, I knew I was playing with a player for player weaker team as Everton in the final.
I found the other semi was somewhat more controversial, with Bob88 causing chaos in Luke's mindset after not kicking the ball out after a critical injury.Luke returned to the shoutbox swearing like a trooper. Yet I've never kicked a ball out myself after such an injury, so was somewhat baffled about this gentlemanly behaviour I have never acquired.
So to my 1st minicup final.
My plan was simple - to beat Bob88, or more accurately not to let Owen break or Shearer shoot...and it paid off with minimal incidents...My Everton only had height in the box but were surprisingly composed passing in the midfield with some strong challenges.
It looked like another penalty shootout was on the cards (as in my 1st round) when in the 84th min I had a break the size of a tsunami. After subbing big Duncan Ferguson I had some other big bloke upfront who was lucky to receive a slightly deflected pass and shot home.
It was then a case of just holding on but always the knowledge that a stoppage time equaliser could break the scousers hearts. Then to my surprise a whipped in cross saw a header pound the back of the net from Bent.
At last trophy for my virtual cabinet!'
So its there for all to see. Congrats to JONBOYO for sealing your first BoTn trophy, bad luck to BOB88 (maybe next week!!).
Final result: BOB88 (Newcastle) 0 - 2 JONBOYO (Everton)

BOTN Report
Hi guys, I thought id let you all know how BOTN has been doing recently.
Heres just a few facts about our progress recently.
- Our potential reach of new members has grown from just under half a million to around 3.5million on average, with ur currently at 6 million today!
- Our internet site rank has risen almost a million places recently to site us as one of the most popular sites on the entire net!
This has been thanks to everyones continuing support for BOTN [and a fair amount of hard work on the admins part] so please keep supporting BOTN however you can by recommending us to friends or by linking to us from your website.
Lets hope this trend continues and we get even better!!

Kudos Ranking
I have introduced a new ranking system into the site called Kudos rank. Seraphs21 gave me the initial idea which I have built upon, so credit to him for the initial idea.
Kudos is basically a word meaning acheivement, and thats what this new ranking system is based on.
Everyone starts off with 500 Kudos. You receive and lose Kudos to players you beat and lose against. If you win against a player with MORE Kudos than you then you will in turn receive a bigger reward for beating them.
This should be a more accurate way of ranking people on the site as more merit will be given for beating harder opponents.
The site ranking link on the left has now been replaced with the Kudos Ranking where you can see your current progress.
Note that everyone will initially start on 500 Kudos so you may have to wait a few days and play a good number of games to start seeing results!
